Movie Poster and Other Things...

Hi everyone--

A quick note from the front line just to update some folks on the posters and other questions that seem to be causing a stir. Here are some answers:

1) NO, none of those posters you've seen are official. They haven't been sanctioned by the producers or myself--and in fact your postings were the first time they were brought to my attention--thanks for that, by the way... y'all are incredible at following up on this stuff and keeping us updated.

2) NO, I am not being credited as "Alan Smithee" -- and yes, I will have my real name on this film. (Unless of course, my punk editor gets his way and I'm credited as "The Micromanager").

3) NO, we're not going to be at Toronto--and not because we weren't accepted, but because from day one we knew we wouldn't make the deadline. It's a fantastic festival, but unfortunately the timing doesn't work out for us.

Thanks everyone for your continued interest and support! We're all very proud of the film--and though us insecure artsy types live in the constant fear of never working again... I believe that this film will be something to look forward to and that people will remember.

All the best,

Jieho

Interview With Editor

Hello all. I know I've been horrible at posting but it's been an insane ride for me, and there's been no time to even think. My days now are spent hunched over monitors in a tiny dark room with no ventilation and horrible climate control. So enough is enough! I'm going to open the door, order some takeout from California Wok, and take this lunch time off to interview my lovely editor Robert Hoffman.

JL: So Robert, how do you feel about coming in on the weekends and working without pay--having no life outside of this film, and being forced to spend everyday in this godforesaken room with subzero temperatures and markings on the wall of former occupants who never made it out alive?

RH: This salad is tasty.

JL: Okay then, what attracted you to this project?

RH: I really responded to the fact that it was a fresh and unique script, unlike anything I'd ever worked on before... and that I felt then and am sure now that it has the potential to reach allot of people.

(Dazed with being in the editing room too long, we both start laughing hysterically at this answer).

JL: What's the most difficult thing about editing this project?

RH: It's an extremely ambitious project. We have allot of good choices, but--

JL: Moving on then. So what are your pet peeves?

RH: Rude people. Especially those who cut other people off. And who don't acknowledge that other people--

JL: And that's all the time we have for today folks! Please tune in next time when hopefully we'll have our webcam up and you can check out Robert's naked chicken dance (a tribute to the one and only Walter Raymond Lloyd).

We love you all, and in all seriousness, we'll get Bob in this room to interview Robert proper when we get a little time to take a break. Keep the faith, and thank you for all your support!!!

Hello all--
So sorry for not being able to get to this more often. I've been slammed with work--and the reality of directing a large ensemble cast on a limited independent budget has been daunting... although I'd be lying if I said I wasn't having fun.

Rest assured, we are all doing are best down here to make a fantastic story come to life. I don't have much time right now (gotta head to the set) but I'll try to post somethign this weekend (we're working 6 day weeks, so please bear with me).

In the meantime, I've got some preliminary blogs about the film from its nascent stages posted on my page at myspace.com.

Take care and thanks again.

The Air I Breathe is underway!

The filming is going great and Jieho is pretty busy. Jieho will post soon, so check back for future updates. In the meantime, check in with Bob and see what he's got to say.
